Mercedes-Benz, the auto maker that introduced many of the most important safety features used in passenger cars today, has begun a new phase in safety: teaching teen drivers to become safe drivers.
The goal of the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy is to help prepare students for today’s driving environment by going beyond basic car control skills and rote learning of traffic rules. The Driving Academy’s approach is also designed to encourage greatercompliance with U.S. policies that have successfully been implemented to increase driver’s safety such as the Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) rules that have successfully helped boost teen driver safety.
