THIS IS ONE INSTANCE WHEN YOU’LL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOUR TEEN IS GETTING INTO.
Teens receive a total of 16 hours of behind-the-wheel training, including night driving and freeway driving. They also attend a distracted driving course on a driving range. The first 8 hours of training are alternated with 15 hours of online theory to give students a solid driving foundation even before they take their DMV learner's permit test. Students also participate in 5 sessions of interactive classroom learning and take a hands-on car safety workshop at the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy facility, for a total of 30 hours of learning outside the vehicle.
The Integrated Program:
Integrates Theory and Practice
MBDA believes driver’s education theory is better understood when placed in the context of actual driving. Our Integrated Program alternates between the classroom and the road, allowing teens to apply theory to practical driving situations, and improves retention by appealing to all types of learners. We’re also unique in that we have been granted special permission from the State of California to grant student licenses to our students before they take their learner’s permit test, thus allowing them to practice driving with our coaches.
Teaches Driving Skills And State Traffic Laws
You cannot be a safe driver unless you first learn the fundamentals of driving. California has hundreds of driving laws for teens digest, and we believe teaching them interactively via our state-of-the-art online program is a more effective way for them to learn driving skills and the state’s traffic laws. These things are basic need-to-knows, but they are of the utmost importance to driver safety.
Takes Full Advantage of 6-Month Learner’s Permit
Graduated Drivers Licensing (GDL) requires a mandatory 6-month learner period from the time a driver receives a provisional learners permit to the time they can take the DMV behind-the-wheel test. MBDA spreads its program throughout the 6-month learner period, allowing teens to learn at a comfortable pace and actually remember what they’ve learned.
Offers a Closed Course Session on the Dangers of Distracted Driving
There are countless diversions on the road today that can distract teen drivers, including other drivers. We expose our students to the dangers of the road by letting them experience these distractions firsthand on our closed course. Because until teens have actually encountered these challenges, they won’t know how to proceed in the safest manner possible.
Encourages and Facilitates Parental Involvement
Parental involvement in learning to drive is extremely important to a teen’s success. This is true in elementary and high school, and it’s true in our school, too. We expect parents to participate firsthand by learning coaching tips, using our guide to plan practice sessions and observing their teen’s progress in a fun and transparent way with our student logbook.
