Classroom and Behind the Wheel Driving Coach

We are looking for people who want to be more than just a driving instructor who focuses on their students passing a test. We are looking for instructor-coaches - dynamic individuals with a passion to teach driving in our innovative, unique and hands-on way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver behind-the-wheel training according to Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy’s integrated approach
  • Provide structured feedback to students and parents.
  • Deliver interactive classroom sessions at Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy
  • Represent MBDA at related events such as school presentations, conferences, and other partnership opportunities. Build relationships with potential stakeholders to increase visibility for MBDA.
  • Participate in train-the-trainer sessions and team meetings to ensure the quality and methods of teaching.
  • Assist in planning and development of new courses/curriculum.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed on site at Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy and that respect for the safety and well being of guests and colleagues is demonstrated at all times. Be fully familiar with emergency procedures and responsibilities


Education:

  • College degree or comparable work experience
  • Qualification in coaching or any other teaching methods desirable
  • Any other relevant vocational study/ experience


Requirements & Conditions:

  • DMV-certified driving instructor (State of California) preferred
  • Min. 3 years experience in driving instruction field preferred
  • Understanding of marketing methods and relationship building with clients
  • Full driving privileges, clean LiveScan/DoJ record
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours/work schedule such as evenings, weekends, and holidays


Technical skills:

  • High standard of courteous and defensive driving
  • Subject matter knowledge (in accordance with DMV requirements)
  • Strong lesson and course planning skills
  • Proven practice with learning/coaching techniques
  • Established feedback and motivational techniques for behind-the-wheel driving lessons
  • Basic computer literacy (proficient use of Email and main Microsoft Office products)
